I'm a Syrian-German software engineer.
Currently a Senior Software Engineer at Marc O'Polo, mostly on e-commerce infrastructure — AWS, commercetools, distributed systems. On the side I'm building dev.link — a free link-in-bio for developers. Also working on reserved.dev — a curated blocklist of words you probably don't want users to register.
Before that I was at Method Park (now UL Software Intensive Systems), working on medical software. I also volunteered as a network and systems admin at the International Student Residence run by Internationaler Bund for a while.
Before Germany I spent a few years between Damascus and Lattakia — worked at the Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Commission at the Central Bank of Syria, and before that at Orjwan and Amansec.
I studied informatics engineering at Latakia University (formerly Tishreen) — did some volunteer teaching there too, web development workshops and training students for the Syrian Olympiad in Informatics. Then a Master of Web Science at the Syrian Virtual University. Also started a Master's in Medical Engineering at FAU — never finished it.
Co-authored a paper back in 2016 — Studying Academic Indicators within Virtual Learning Environment Using Educational Data Mining
